Our broadway show the other night was absolutely spectacular! I enjoyed being in it with all of you! It was defenitely a night all of us will remember. The venue was spectacular. Now you all know Tison wasn’t kidding when he said this place was HUGE! I kind of feel sorry for all those people in the top balcony. It would suck if you’re trying to enjoy a show and all of a sudden you get a nosebleed from the altitude. Also, tomorrow is our banquet! We were filming the video today and I can tell you it’s going to be amazing! Also, if you have a hat that you would like to lend for the photo booth, please bring it tomorrow and give it to Bree Wilson. Remember, the theme is crazy hats. So dress semi-formal and break out some crazy head wear! I will see you all tomorrow where my identity will be….(wait for it)…. revealed….

Broadway

Masterwork Concert

Hello everyone! Last week we did amazing at the Spring Showcase. The Troubs did a couple serene pieces as well as a traditional fold song. Concert Choir brought the walls down with Battle of Jericho and amazed everyone with an African chant. Barontones lightened everything up with a fast paced Italian song and La Petite Neuf brought a smile to everyone’s face and tears to their eyes with Christina Choate’s amazing arrangement of Jar of Hearts. Baron Choir won the hearts of every girl in the audience with My Girl and Les Chants did an interesting native American piece with a dance. Trouveres made things interesting with some German and Russian songs as well as some sweet spirituals. Overall it was an amazing concert. If you missed it, don’t worry, there is a concert tomorrow night at Saint Wilfred’s church on Ellis at 6:30. This Masterwork concert will be in dedication of Mr. Tison’s music teacher, Mrs. Wanelle Lowe, who had passed last year. This concert will feature an amazing masterpiece, Fern Hill, the text written by Dylan Thomas and the music written by John Corigliano. Don’t miss out on this amazing concert! Seating is limited. Also in other news, this past weekend, Concert Choir and Troubadours went on tour to Sand Diego, where we sang the National Anthem at the Padres-Dodgers game Thursday night and performed in the Heritage Festival. We also toured San Diego State University and met their chorale director and his chamber choir and visited SD Zoo and Sea World. It was an unforgettable tour following a great concert soon to be followed by a heart-warming concert.

Spring Season

Hello everyone! We are quite a ways into the music for our spring season. The week after next is spring break and our spring concert is right after! It’s gonna come right around the corner so watch out or else it’ll smack you in your face! The weekend following that concert, Concert Choir and Les Chanteurs are going on a tour in San Diego! This will be really fun and exciting as they get to sing the national anthem at a Padres game! As if that isn’t enough, we have our Masterworks concert that following week! This next month is going to be really busy so stay strong! I believe in you!

Valentines Day

Hello again everyone! Yes! It’s that time of year again! It’s time for the Concert Choir valentine grams! Because nothing says “I love you” quite like publicly embarrassing that special someone by tempting them with infidelity with a bunch of cute choir boys/girls. They are $3 for each card and come with a song and flower. To Concert Choir: every gram you sell helps the program! To students at FVHS: buy grams! It helps our program in a very fun way! I was just wondering… Do teachers buy grams? It would be nice and all, buying grams for other teachers, but, it would just be kind of weird if someone has to sing a love song to their teacher. Anyways, have a happy valentines day!

Hello again everyone! Did you all enjoy your holidays? In a couple more days we can kiss 2012 goodbye! Are you all excited?… me neither, years come and go. apocalypses come and go. I just can’t wait until I tell my grandchildren about all the times I survived the end of the world! I hope you all enjoy New Years. Anyone doing any parties? We should have a choir New Years party! How awesome would that be? It should be an 80′s party… chicks love 80′s parties… They’re all like “ah mah gahsh! it’s like… 80′th party. oh me gosh?”

Our Holiday Concert is over! There was a lot of hard work involved and I’m sure we are all tired after such a long day. Congratulations to all of the soloists who each did an amazing job. Are you all ready for school tomorrow? I’m sure we’re all just watching movies in all of our classes. What teacher would actually make us work on the day before break? I hope you all enjoy your holiday break!

Hello everyone. I hope you’re all having a good week off. Nothing says ‘thank you’ like eating like there’s no tomorrow while there are starving kids in Africa. What are you thankful for? I’m thankful for our freedoms of press, speech, guns, assembly, more guns, voting, right to remain silent, and more guns… what are we supposed to use to kill and eat turkeys with anyways? Well, I hope you all have a good thanksgiving. Be sure to practice any songs you have, and may the force be with you.

Rehearsals

Hey guys! As you all should know, tomorrow Tison will be gone so it is up to the section leaders to run our rehearsal tomorrow. Please be courteous to them tomorrow and give them all your respect. The last two days have been excellent rehearsals let’s keep it up. This weekend is a three day weekend and the next weekend is Thanksgiving break. So these rehearsals are pretty important. Also, a reminder if you wish to see the Peter Pan musical, bring in the $25 deposit before spots run out!

New Month

Oh… Hello neighbor… Admit it, you read that in Mr. Rogers’ voice. Anyway, pictures on Thursday went pretty well, I can’t wait to see what they look like. Also, on Friday, our Troubadours ditched us to perform the three nocturnes at Biola University. I heard that went well. Also, it’s a new month now and we’re going to be busy learning the songs for the holiday concert. Next weekend is a three day weekend, and the weekend after that is a week long. Hey, hey, hey choir kids. Here’s your update for October 30th. I would like to thank Rachel Reynolds for hosting the choir Halloween party on Saturday. It was a really great turn out! Tomorrow’s Halloween and you are all encouraged to dress up. I can’t wait to see all the little Mr. Tisons running around. Also a reminder, Thursday is picture day. Come with your attire. Hello again. Today concluded our first full week after our first concert. I’m sure you are all fully recovered by now as we have been looking over the pieces we will be doing for the Holiday Concert. So far, they sound amazing (great sectionals today everyone), and I speak for everyone when I say that these songs will be outstanding once each section masters their part. Holiday Concert is going to be memorable! Before I go, I have a question. If sports enhancing drugs are illegal in athletics, shouldn’t auto-tune be illegal in music? Goodbye everyone! Hello again everyone. All the choirs are just about recovered from Tuesday’s concert with little to no injuries. To everyone in Concert Choir, let this weekend’s assignment be a warning to never talk during SSR. Remember, every time you talk during SSR, Nickleback writes another song… So don’t talk during SSR. Pretty soon we will be getting music for our holiday concert. We have exactly two months until then(Holiday Concert is on Dec. 20th). That is all I have to say. Fall Concert

Great job on the great concert last night everyone! I can tell there was a lot of practice and rehearsing from everyone. I speak for everyone when I say that this year is going to be fun and exciting for everyone!… In other news, the music industry was dealt a devastating blow today… Nicki Minaj was found alive on the floor of her hotel this morning. Paramedics tried to stop that from happening but were unsuccessful.

If you haven’t heard already, picture day will be moved to November 1st due to unfortunate complications regarding attire.
